Michael Berryhill has been involved in the Martial Arts since 1991. He recieved his Black Belt in 1995 under Mr. Dorsey. Sensei Mike took a job offer at the local YMCA teaching children karate for a program through Houston. The program went out of business, so Sensei Mike and his wife opened a karate school in August 1998 and started Young Dragons Karate Academy. Teaching for 9 years and out growing the school. In Sept 2008 TEXAS KARATE ACADEMY was formed.
Recieved his 2nd Degree in 2000 under Shihan Scott Messina, and Sifu John Palacios.
In 2001 traveled to Vienna Austria after winning fights in Chicago and Kentucky.
Recieved Blue Belt in Mushin Jiu-Jitsu under Sensei Donald Murphy
Recieved his 3rd Degree in 2005 under Dr. Terry Free 8th Degree /
TSMA board of regents and Sifu John Palcios.
Recieved 4th Degree Black Belt under Shihan Scott Messina-Jerry Nunez.
Mike Berryhill has competed in Martial Arts for 11 years.
Winning local and nationally rated tournaments.
